Akshay & Bhumi’s toilet drama leads to a love story in ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s satirical comedy Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’s trailer has been released on Twitter.

Unveiling the trailer on Twitter, Akshay wrote, “A love that started a revolution! Here’s the #ToiletEkPremKathaTrailer @ToiletTheFilm @psbhumi”

With a perfect dose of humor, drama, and romance, the film deals with a basic problem of sanitation and how rural India ignores to see it as a big problem.

The story is of Keshav who is a manglik and wants to get married. His upper-class ‘Pandit’ father gets him married to a buffalo as the son eyes a smart girl from his locality named Jaya.

After a fair amount of chasing and romance, both get married and only then Jaya finds out that there isn’t any toilet at her in-law’s place.

She then sets him off to fight for bathroom rights in the village.

Veteran actors like Anupam Kher, Rajesh Sharma, and Bhumi Pednekar give heavy performances, but Akshay Kumar takes the centre stage.

While Kumar goes the predictable route of starting with funny one-liners, he sinks into a more serious role towards the end of the trailer.

And as always, Akshay charms everyone with perfect comic timing.

Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film also stars Divyendu Sharma, Sudhir Pandey, Shubha Khote and Anupam Kher.

How much will the film be able to pass on the message? The answer would be out on August 11 when the film releases.
